The Korean beauty brand Merry monde is celebrated for its feminine designs, including the Happy Your Day Cushion Set with a compact case resembling a birthday cake, the Cherry Heart Mega Tint presented in a heart-shaped tube, and the pastel-packaged Super Twim Pen Eyeliner.
Recently, the brand unveiled its latest product, the Milk Heart Tint, a glossy lip tint offered in four delightful, milky hues, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Similar to the Cherry Heart Mega Tint, the Milk Heart Tint comes in an Instagram-worthy heart-shaped tube and features a creamy texture that glides smoothly over the lips. Enriched with hydrating ingredients like squalane and glycerin, this formula not only nourishes the lips but also imparts a lustrous shine. Additionally, it can be used on the cheeks for a cohesive tonal makeup look.
I applied all four lip tint shades on my fellow editor Kimberley Reyes, who has honey-toned skin and dark hair. Let’s find out her thoughts on each color!
#01 Candy Milk
The shade:
A soft and delightful candy pink, #01 Candy Pink is perfect for lighter skin tones and pairs well with clothing and accessories in similar hues. However, this cotton candy color can make the complexion appear washed out, so it’s best complemented with a vivid blush or bold eye makeup.
Kimberley’s opinion:
Unfortunately, the light pink shade did not flatter my dark, pigmented lips, giving it a slightly washed-out appearance. That said, I believe it would appeal to those with naturally pink or red lips.
#02 Strawberry Milk
The shade:
#02 Strawberry Milk is a vibrant baby pink that flatters both warm and cool undertones. It stands out as the most vivid and intense of the collection, making it a great choice for daily wear as well as special occasions.
Kimberley’s opinion:
This shade blended seamlessly with my everyday makeup, which typically includes medium to deep rosy pink tones.
#03 Mute Milk
The shade:
A soft, muted pink akin to milk tea, #03 Mute Milk offers the least intensity among the four shades, making it ideal for those desiring a subtle touch of color or a glossy finish on the lips.
Kimberley’s opinion:
This shade complements my daily makeup style, which often includes medium to deep rosy pinks.
#04 Mauve Milk
The shade:
This adventurous yet understated taro-milk hue embraces cooler tones, perfect for achieving a cool-toned lip or a complete cool-toned makeup look.
Kimberley’s opinion:
Out of all the shades, #04 Mauve Milk matched my natural lip color best, effectively balancing the pink undertone of my lower lip to align with my pigmented upper lip.
The Verdict
Kimberley: As someone who typically leans towards matte lip tints, I was excited to try something new. I enjoyed the shiny finish of the Merry monde Milk Heart Tint, and its milky consistency felt luxurious on my lips. Although the shades provided only a subtle hint of color to my darker lips, they kept them well-hydrated. Plus, I absolutely adore the adorable packaging!
